It's no problem. It's one quote out of a fairly big text, so it would seem as if people concentrated overly much on this one thing while missing the rest. I didn't react too friendly myself, which I'm sorry for.

To be honest - I I had read this interview in any other situation, I'd have thought: "Well, he might not understand a big part of his userbase, but at least he's trying."

The thing is: I'm not entirely sure when this interview was posted originally (maybe I keep missing the date somewhere) but it seems as if he only thought to inform himself about how the American (and with it, also a large part of the international market who uses English as the main language to get around) after deciding that some elements which are vital to certain groups are superfluous and need to go. Not to mention that most Russian users are none too pleased about the new comment system themselves since the new design is not very well done.

That... is unfortunate. I'm not exactly sure about how the German userbase is treated, I only noticed that the official German LJ news journal is about two years outdated, so I guess no-one really cares anymore. But Livejournal never was very broadly known here anyway.

(I still have to wait for a friend because I promised her we'd watch the new episode together and I can't wait! I need some more icons myself!)
